SUMMARY:Volunteer day to care for Highbridge Forest in Manhattan
DESCRIPTION:The Highbridge Forest Crew works to remove invasive plants from the park and to care for recently planted native trees. \nAs part of the Forest Crew. you will learn basic invasive and native plant identification\, proper removal techniques\, and an overview of New York Restoration Project’s approach to urban reforestation. Anyone interested in forest ecology\, invasive plant removal and urban forests should join the Forest Crew on Sunday July 5\, 2015. \nNew York Restoration Project crews meet every week to work on ongoing projects and maintenance in their respective areas of Sherman Creek Park and Highbridge Park. All participants are provided with monthly training sessions and asked to commit to at least 3 work days. Ongoing trainings and orientations are scheduled for the first work day of every month.
