SOLAR MADE SIMPLE FOR CUNY EMPLOYEES
Sustainable CUNY Launches NYSolar Smart SunShares Program
The City University of New York is participating in a NY-Sun pilot program for CUNY employees, their families and friends who are interested in going solar. NYSolar Smart SunShares is a limited time group purchasing program that aims to reduce the costs of installing solar through educational workshops and by leveraging the collective purchasing power of a designated group, whether they live in a single or multi-family dwelling.
The greater the number of homeowners in the group who complete a solar installation on their homes, the better the discount, hence ‘group purchasing’. The CUNY SunShares Program will run from September 9th through December 9th, 2015.The program uses a tiered-pricing structure that could go as low as $2.99/watt, which is among the lowest pricing in the country.
