Environmental Lab at John Jay College
These links are to an absolutely amazing project by JJ Prof Sandra Swenson. She received an NSF grant to teach NSF students to monitor Hudson River water quality. She created a lab that allows JJ students to do this testing.
In addition, she and Kate Good are monitoring the Hudson River and other waterways around NYC. During the months of May-September they volunteer as part of the team that monitors water quality for the Citizens Water Quality Testing Consortium. They test samples to inform layers and other individuals who recreate in the water around NYC about the levels of enterococcus bacteria.
