On behalf of nature: A voice ensemble performance

Meredith Monk has spent decades exploring the the human voice. She headlines at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) this holiday season, presenting a mesmerizing hymn to compassion. Inspired by the Buddhist conception of oneness, On Behalf of Nature represents our connection to the natural realm. In the moving work of music and choreography, eight performers (including Monk) intone a plethora of sounds, pointing to a world in which the material, the spiritual, and the human form a wondrous whole.
