Gohar Petrossian is an Assistant  Professor in John Jay’s Criminal Justice department, and Director of the International Crime and Justice Masters Program. Her research interests include crimes against wildlife and environmental criminology.

Humans are deeply dependent on fish, which comprise 15% of protein intake for almost half of the world’s population. Last Fish Swimming examines the specific environmental factors that make illegal fishing possible, and calls upon the global community to address threats to the world’s food supply and ensure the  sustainability of the fishing industry for generations to come.
