John Jay students, staff, and faculty help make history at the People’s Climate March

Joining hundreds of thousands people from thousands of organization, members of the John Jay community enthusiastically turned out for the People’s Climate March on Sunday, September 21, 2014, to draw attention to the pressing need for a political roadmap to stem the tide of climate change.  Hoping to influence the upcoming Climate Summit at the U.N., the marchers hailed from around the country and around the world, representing groups as diverse as environmental non-profits to labor unions to activist grandmothers.  The John Jay contingent, organized by Nyasha Laing, Lindsey Kaymen, and Alexander Schlutz, marched alongside the PSC-CUNY union through the streets of mid-town and took in the street theater, drumming, and overall excitement of a seemingly never-ending tide of people all sending one clear message to our political leaders: help the planet before it’s too late.

Below is a small gallery of photos from the march– watch this site as we continue to add more photos from this historic day!
