On Friday, September 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. join us for the Today’s Fossil Fuels and the Future of our Children’s Health in the auditorium in John Jay College’s New Building (524 W. 59th St., Manhattan, room L.63). You are also welcome to the reception at 5 p.m. preceding the event, in the lobby.
The event brings together scientists engaging in cutting edge research, innovative policy makers at the city, state and international levels, and mothers from impacted communities. These speakers will share studies, research, and real world examples of the health impacts from conception into adulthood from fossil fuels, and why and how this little known aspect of the climate crisis must be recognized and addressed. Speakers at the symposium will include Dr. Frederica Perera, Dr. David O. Carpenter, Dr. Sheila Bushkin-Bedient, Pramilla Malick, Cherri Foytlin, Samara Swanston, Linda B. Rosenthal, Osprey Orielle Lake and Thomas Linzey. The Moderator for the forum is filmmaker Penelope Jagessar Chaffer.
